This is a great article I came across while researching how data collected for monitoring trends in poisonings and opiate related ER visits, gets weaponized to fit the ideological agenda of the anti-opiate zealots. Valid research data is consistently taken out of context, twisted and exaggerated without referencing the contextual intent of the original the data.

Cherry picking the research data to answer questions when those answers have already been predetermined, failing to submit research for peer review, failing to gain independent results from other researchers, paying experts for opinions, failing to fund research which may provide insights contrary to conventional thinking or popular belief, are all violations of every tenant of scientific research standards.
